The Norwich Free Academy Alumni Association has established awards to honor extraordinary professional and personal accomplishments of fellow graduates and service, committment and dedication to NFA by its alumni and current students. Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2013 Distinguished Service Award and the 2013 Alumni Achievement Award. The deadline for this year's nominations is March 1, 2013.
All 2013 Alumni Association award recipients will be honored at the Legacy Day Reception & Dinner to be held on May 6, 2013. In addition, each award recipient's name will be added to a perpetual plaque, located in Levanto Alumni House, to provide permanent recognition and honor of their outstanding achievements and service.
The Norwich Free Academy Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award
Established in 2000, this award is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has shown dedication and loyalty through his/her continued interest in and support of the Norwich Free Academy or the Norwich Free Academy Alumni Association. The Norwich Free Academy Alumni Achievement Award
Established in 2012, this award was created to recognize alumni who have brought honor, recognition and distinction to the Norwich Free Academy through exemplary achievement within their community, profession, society or chosen field. The George Ripley Alumni Association Student Humanitarian Award
To honor leadership, commitment and service to the Norwich Free Academy, The NFA Alumni Association established this award in 2008 named for the Alumni Association’s first president, George Ripley. Students are nominated by current NFA Faculty.
The award is presented to an NFA senior who displays the qualities and characteristics that most closely embody the spirit and mission of the NFA Alumni Association – an NFA senior who has demonstrated personal character through leadership, altruism, volunteer service and the giving of oneself to the school community.
