9th Grade Experience
Your 4 year NFA Experience begins with a powerful and smooth transition. In existence for over 25 years, NFA’s signature Ninth Grade Program has, and continues to be, a leader in programming for 8th graders entering high school.
Students enter NFA as ninth graders from a variety of different schools, districts, and towns. Ninth grade students spend most of their day in the Cranston Building. To make the experience more personal, the program divides students into units of about 100, each with four teachers, one from each of the major content areas (English, science, mathematics, and social studies). Each unit also has the support of a school counselor, as well as that of elective subject faculty.
The unit forms a personal network of connection and support.
Teachers have common planning time and regularly meet to assess student progress, develop strategies, seek specialized help, and communicate with parents.
At NFA beginnings are fresh, and opportunities and choices are real.
