Guidance, College & Career Planning
The NFA School Counseling Department provides comprehensive, developmental guidance services to all students at NFA. Our services and programs support students academically, emotionally, and socially. Working in collaboration with teachers, administrators, school personnel, parents, community services, and other educational institutions, counselors aid students as they negotiate the complexities of successfully navigating through their high school experience.
The department is committed to ensuring that all students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to implement their post-high school plan.
Our goals include the following:
- Students will attain the highest levels of academic achievement of which they are capable.
- Students will understand the connections between their education and the transition to training and career choices.
- Students will graduate with a post-secondary plan.
- Students will develop good decision-making skills, set personal goals, and demonstrate respect for others.
Student Education/Occupation Plan (SEOP) meetings are held in small groups at all grade levels. The program is tailored by grade level to review past performance, make plans for the future, and review the steps necessary to achieve each student’s personal goals.
