An important update - November 6

November 6

I am writing to inform you of two additional positive COVID-19 cases in the Norwich Free Academy community.

The first case involves a student who has not been on campus in more than four weeks and, therefore, there has been no exposure at school related to this case.

In the second case, the student was last on campus Thursday, October 29, and is currently quarantining at home under guidance from the Uncas Health District. Anyone determined to be a close contact in this case is also following proper protocol as advised by Uncas Health District and our Medical Center.

To date, our tracing efforts indicate no passing of the disease on our campus. The cases we have had represent community based spread. Mitigation efforts now are paramount to controlling the spread in our community. I encourage you and your family to remain vigilant in wearing a mask, keeping your social distance and self-monitoring for symptoms. And, most importantly, anyone feeling sick should not be coming to school.

Thank you again for your continued patience and cooperation. I will provide further updates as needed.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian M. Kelly
Head of School
