Interim Learning Opportunities - March 19

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Norwich Free Academy. I hope that your family is healthy and doing well during these unprecedented societal challenges. As we continue to navigate this very challenging situation, I call your attention to some interim learning opportunities that we have provided for all NFA students.

The recommended interim learning opportunities cannot replace the classroom experience, however, they are intended to keep our students intellectually active, engaged and connected to NFA.

The first educational resource to consider is Khan Academy, a comprehensive web-based learning tool for which all NFA students have an account. Khan Academy emphasizes personalized learning, allowing students to practice at their own pace. In response to these unprecedented national school closures, Khan Academy has also designed a structured school schedule that you might find helpful to keep your student(s) on task throughout the day. I encourage you to click here for the Khan Academy information.

In addition, NFA educators have provided learning resources to supplement the schedule and structure created by Khan Academy. The daily schedule, and all available resources can be found here

It is our sincere hope that these interim learning opportunities will serve to keep your child(ren) engaged during this unique situation. We participate in frequent (daily and/or weekly) conference calls with Governor Lamont, CT Department of Education and local and regional school districts to be fluent in statewide plans and seek recommendations and suggestions.

We will continue to keep you informed as things develop over time. Please let your child(ren) know that I/we care about them and miss seeing them on campus.
