Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement: I certify that I am age 18 or older. I have carefully read and freely sign the Acknowledgment & Assumption of Risk, Release, and Waiver of Liability. I fully understand and agree that this Acknowledgment & Assumption of Risk, Release, and Waiver of Liability is a legally binding agreement, that I on behalf of myself and the Student have given up substantial rights by signing it, that no oral or written statements or representations can or will alter the contents of this document, and that I and Student sign it freely and voluntarily without any inducement or undue influence. I agree that this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut (excluding its conflict of laws principles), which shall be the forum for any lawsuits filed under or incident to this agreement or the Sports Activities. I further agree that this agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permissible by the laws of the State of Connecticut and that if any portion of this agreement is held to be invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full force and effect.
Cancellations, Refund and Make-Up Policies - Norwich Free Academy (NFA) understand that schedules can change, but due to planning and staffing requirements, all Visual & Performing Arts, and SMCA program registrations are non-refundable after a short grace period.
Refund Policy
- A full refund may be requested within 72 hours of registration, provided the class has not yet started.
- After 72 hours, no refunds will be issued for any reason, including schedule conflicts, missed classes, or changes in availability.
- Any non-refundable processing or materials fees are excluded from refund consideration.
Program Cancellations
NFA reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If a class is canceled:
- Participants will be notified at least two (2) business days in advance.
- A full refund or program credit will be issued.
Weather and Make-Up Classes
- If a class is canceled due to weather or instructor absence, a make-up session will be offered, typically during a designated make-up week.
- Weather-related cancellations will follow Norwich Free Academy’s closure notices and be posted on the NFA website and social media.
- Students who miss a class voluntarily will not receive a refund or a make-up opportunity.
