The Fall Cheerleading season consists of both a Varsity and a Spirit team. The Varsity team attends all NFA football games both home and away, while the Spirit team is at all home games. They promote all athletics at pep rallies; getting the campus pumped up for each season.
Shaheer Ahmed, who took over our program in 2021, began his cheerleading career in 2015 as a student at NFA. He was a three-year member of the team, cheering both on the sidelines and competitively. He went on to attend UCONN and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neurobiology with a minor in Psychology. He was a two-year member of the UCONN cheerleading team. Shaheer’s passion for cheerleading remained as strong as the day he started and often returned back to NFA to support his former teammates at both practices and competitions. During his first season as coach, his squad finished second at the ECC cheer competition, as well as a strong finish at the states competition, qualifying the team for an invite-only, Team of the Year competition, a first in program history.
