Coaches
Athena Jaskiewicz, Head Coach
This will be Athena Jaskiewicz’s second year at the helm of the NFA program. She’s a 2010 NFA graduate and currently teaches physical education and health here, too. While a student, Jaskiewicz participated in swimming, softball and outdoor track. Following graduation, she attended the University of Arizona. She discovered her love for teaching and coaching when she moved back to Connecticut, deciding to enroll at Eastern Connecticut State University where she earned her degree and became certified. Before starting her coaching career at NFA, Jaskiewicz served as the assistant softball coach at St. Bernard’s for three seasons. In her first year at NFA, she led the Wildcats to a 13-7 mark and the semifinal round of the ECC tournament.
Tim Walsh, Assistant Coach
This is Tim Walsh’s second season on the NFA staff, where he also teaches English and Journalism. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and his master’s from Sacred Heart University. A graduate of Lyman Memorial High School, he played baseball, soccer, basketball and track during his career. Walsh has worked for the athletic departments at both NFA and Lyman Memorial for several years.
