Fall 2026 athletic team start dates and times

 

All student-athletes must register through Arbiter (formerly FamilyID). Athletes must be cleared with all necessary paperwork (including a physical) filed before starting an activity. There are no exceptions.

Coaches cannot accept physical forms. The forms must be given to the school nurse prior to the start of practice. Physicals are good for 13 months.

Girls’ Swimming: The Girls Swim team will have preseason conditioning at NFA on the following days: 

  • Tuesday August 18th:  5-6pm in the Cardio Room
  • Wednesday August 19th  5-6pm in the Multi Purpose Room
  • Thursday August 20:  4-5pm in Alumni Gym for Concussion testing, then 5-6pm in the Cardio Room.
  • Friday Aug. 21: 5-6pm in the Multi Purpose Room

Girls’ Soccer:  The first session for all interested candidates (including freshmen), is Monday, August 24, at noon, on the NFA Turf Field. For further information, contact Coach Joe Iozzia at iozziaj@nfaschool.org

Boys’ Soccer:  The first session for all interested candidates (including freshmen), is Saturday, August 22, on the NFA track at 10:30 am. This is a conditioning evaluation, and all athletes must bring running shoes. Soccer practices begin Monday, August 24,  at 3 pm, on Fontaine Field. Questions can be directed to Coach Grant Neuendorf at neuendorfg@nfaschool.org.

Football:  Pre-season/OTAs  start August 13 at 3:30 pm sharp in the Multi-Purpose Room. Players need to wear a tee shirt and rubber-cleated shoes. Please bring sneakers in the event that practice must be held indoors. Questions can be directed to Head Coach Dylan Schroth at schrothd@nfaschool.org

Boys’ Cross Country:  All interested candidates (including freshmen) should report to the NFA track on Monday, August 24, at 3 pm. Questions can be directed to Coach Digby Ludlow at ludlowd@nfaschool.org.

Girls’ Cross Country:  All interested candidates (including freshmen) should report to the NFA track on Monday, August 24, at 3 pm. Questions can be directed to Coach Kara Kochanski at kochanskik@nfaschool.org.

Girls’ Volleyball:  All interested candidates should report to Alumni Gym for tryouts on Monday, August 24. Ninth grade students will have their first tryout from 12 to 3 pm. All 10th, 11th and 12th grade students will have their first tryout from 4:30 to 8 pm. On Tuesday, August 25, 9th grade students will have a second tryout from noon to 3 pm, and 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students will have a second tryout from 4:30 to  7:30 pm. For those who make it past the first round of cuts, the final day of tryouts will be Wednesday, August 26, and all grades will have one session together from 4 to 7:30 pm. Fall Cheerleading:  Tryouts for all interested candidates (including freshmen) will be August 18, 19, and 20 from 4 to 6 pm. Report directly to Norton Gym on August 18 at 4 pm. Questions can be directed to Coach Missy Gil at gilm@nfaschool.org.

Field Hockey:  All interested candidates (including freshmen) should report to the NFA Turf Field on Monday, August 24, from 2:30 to 5 pm. Please have sneakers, mouth guards, shin guards, and a stick. We will finish practice at 5 pm.  Questions can be directed to Coach Emily Murray at murraye@nfaschool.org.

Dance Team:  Auditions will be held August 24 in the Dance Studio from 3 to 5 pm.  Questions can be directed to Coach Caldeira at caldeiraa@nfaschool.org.

Unified Sports will have an informational meeting on September 3 from 2:15 to 2:45 pm in room 7137. Questions can be directed to Coach Staley at staleyc@nfaschool.org.
