Hutchison named girls’ lacrosse coach

Christine Hutchinson girls lacrosse head coach

Christine Hutchison has been named the girls’ lacrosse coach at Norwich Free Academy.

“We are thrilled to have a coach like Christine,” said Athletic Director Roy Wentworth. “She has an incredible coaching resume that is only going to benefit our student athletes. Her knowledge of the game, proven track record and commitment to our program will help our team succeed and grow.”

Hutchison is currently the head field hockey coach at Eastern Connecticut State University, a position she’s held since 2006. She also served ECSU as the head women’s lacrosse coach for 14 years, managing all aspects of the program. During her lacrosse coaching tenure, she was selected as the Little East Conference Coach of the Year five times. She graduated from the NCAA Women Coaches Academy and has attended US Lacrosse coaching clinics and conventions. She has been a local youth lacrosse coach, too.

“I am excited for this opportunity to share my lacrosse knowledge with a team that has a desire to continue to grow and improve,” said Hutchison. “I’m ready to support, develop and teach our student-athletes so they will have the best experience possible while learning about sportsmanship, teamwork, positive mindset and the rewards of hard work on the field and in the classroom.”

Hutchison, who has a master’s degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and a bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College, replaces Eric Page.
