Emily Murray has been named the girls’ tennis coach at Norwich Free Academy.

“Emily is an integral part of our athletics program,” said Athletic Director Roy Wentworth. “She knows our kids, she understands our values and she is committed to both kids and the community. She is a great leader for our student athletes."

Murray, who teaches physical education and health at NFA, served as the assistant tennis coach for two seasons. She’s also the head field hockey coach.

“I’m ready to get going,” said Murray. “I am so excited to be working with our students here at NFA. Our program has an opportunity to grow, and I look forward to sharing my passion for tennis with the team. I’m eager to get started and develop a program our kids – and our school – will be proud of.”

Murray replaces Chris Portelance.
