NFA inducts 13 to its Athletic Hall of Fame
A state championship coach and 12 outstanding athletes, including a set of sisters and four Major League Baseball players, make up the members of the Norwich Free Academy Hall of Fame induction class of 2024.
“This class represents the very best in NFA athletic history,” said Athletic Director Roy Wentworth. “The accomplishments of this group are inspiring on a number of levels and continue to show the success our athletes have while on campus and beyond.”
Wentworth heads a selection committee which, he says, is both fun and incredibly challenging. “The records speak for themselves,” he said. “The biggest challenge for the committee is narrowing down the list while ensuring equal balance from different eras. It all speaks to the lasting success of our athletics program.”
Wentworth also said the committee will select induction classes in both 2025 and 2026, helping to fill the gap created by the pandemic. Following the 2026 induction, a new class will be enshrined every two years.
The new members will be celebrated at a banquet on Friday, November 22, at Lake of Isles. The event, which begins at 5 pm, is open to the public. Tickets are $75. To view this year's inductees and purchase tickets, click here.
