Empty bowls set for May 10

Empty Bowls, an annual spring event at Norwich Free Academy, will take place Wednesday, May 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

At the event, the $10 cost includes a handmade bowl crafted by NFA pottery students and a delicious soup made by NFA culinary students.

Dining is available onsite outside the Atrium beginning at 4:30. Should the weather force a move inside, tables will be set up on the second floor of the Atrium.

Customers will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for a basket raffle. The drawing will be at approximately 6:15 pm.

All proceeds from the event will go to the NFA food pantry, which provides food to approximately 60 school families each week.

The $10 includes a choice of one soup, the bowl and homemade rolls. A six-pack of chocolate chip cookies with sea salt is also available for $5.

To go orders are also available.

This year’s soup choices include cheeseburger, roasted red pepper (gluten-free and vegan), loaded baked potato, southwest chicken (gluten-free) and corn and sweet potato chowder (gluten-free and vegetarian).
