Free meals ending January 31

Thanks to pandemic-related funding, we have been fortunate to have the resources to provide all of our students with free meals in our cafeteria.

As you may have seen in the news recently, that funding is coming to an end. For us, the last day of free meals for all students is January 31.

Beginning February 1, we return to the pre-pandemic rules which means free meals will only be provided to those who apply and are accepted into the free and reduced meal program. All other students will be charged accordingly.

All students received the application for free and reduced meals at the beginning of the year. If you believe you may qualify and haven’t already completed an application, please fill out this form as soon as possible. The form can be found here. It must be printed out, completed and returned to either a house office or Colleen DeClerck (Allis House, second floor) prior to January 23, 2023.

Hard copies of the form are also available on campus in house offices or in Allis House A221.

There’s a helpful video that will guide you through the completion of the form. You may watch that here.

Additional resources about eligibility can be found here.

If you have questions about this process, please reach out to Colleen DeClerck at 860.425.5521.

Remember, regular-priced meals resume on February 1 for all students unless they have been approved through this program.
