Souper Bowl of Caring
Project Outreach is collecting canned soup to support the NFA Food Pantry and Norwich Food Bank. Bring soup to Project Outreach, Room 7101, through Feb. 4.

Exploring Opportunities & 2019-20 Course Registration
The process of planning, deciding, and registering for next year’s courses will begin soon. On Mon., Feb 4, the Exploring Opportunities information will be posted on your MyNFA>Student Portal Dashboard. The process will kick off with an extended homeroom, Tue., Feb. 5.  

Now is the time to discuss with your teachers what courses you should/might take next year. 

Free/Reduced Lunch for Children of Furloughed Parents
Students whose parents are furloughed federal workers during the government shutdown may receive food assistance by filling out an application. Learn more information from your house principal, school counselor, or student services.

Graduation Information
Attention Seniors: Cap and gown orders will be placed, Tuesday, February 5, 2019. Please also confirm the spelling of your legal name for your diploma. 
Participation in the June graduation ceremony requires the wearing of the traditional cap, gown, and tassel. The cost of your graduation cap and gown has been added to your Power School account in the amount of $29. Payment must be made by April 1, 2019. You may bring payment to Ms. Martin in the Bradlaw Office at any time before April 1. Payment may be made by cash, money order, or check payable to NFA. Students on free or reduced lunch may see their guidance counselors for financial assistance. 

Winter Athletic Signing Event
Any student-athletes who will be playing a sport in college and would like to be part of a winter signing event, please see Coach Wheeler in room 3041 for more information.

Poet Laureate
To apply, send 3 poems to robertsk@nfaschool.org by February 8, 2019. A panel of judges will then select the winner, who will represent NFA at a Poetry Workshop at the Arts Cafe Mystic and receive $100.

Annual Historically Black College Tour
April 14-19 (Spring Break). Open to all students - accepting applications until filled.
Visit Howard University, Morgan State, NC A&T State, Winston Salem State, Shaw University and UNC (Chapel Hill). 
Cost - $325 (includes transportation and hotels.) $100 deposit required. Visit the Diversity Department for an application and more information.
