There is no school Wednesday, November 11, in honor of Veterans Day.

Slushies are back!

The Cat Shack is open starting today, November 9, during all three lunch waves. Make sure to stop by the school store on Converse to buy a slushie and check out the great NFA apparel!

Makerspace kits available in the the Edwin H. Land Library

Makerspace kits are available to take home, make, and create for fun. Students and adults are welcome to email us at ehlandlibrary@gmail.com, text to (860)373-0365, or stop by the library to get a kit. Stop by or contact the library and we will get a kit to you today through Tuesday, November 24th. The November Maker kits to choose from are:

Photography Club meeting

The Photography Club will meet Tuesday, November 10, at 2:20 pm. Students on-campus that day should come to room 8239 for an in-person meeting. We will also stream on Google Meet for off-campus students. Email Mr. Pawluk at pawluki@nfaschool.org for a meeting link. 

Asian Culture Club

Members of the Asian Culture Club and the National Chinese Honor Society are invited to watch a movie together virtually tomorrow (Friday, November 13) beginning at 3 pm. The link is in the ACC Google classroom. Questions can be sent to jic@nfaschool.org

NFA Prevention Council meeting

The NFA Prevention Council will have its first meeting Thursday, November 12, at 2:10 pm. We will meet with the Norwich Prevention Council and discuss ideas for prevention campaigns both on campus and in the community. If you are interested in attending, please contact Mrs. Savage at savagej@nfaschool.org for the google meet link.

Interested in NFA baseball?

Anyone interested in playing baseball in the spring or participating in off season conditioning, please contact Coach Turgeon at turgeona@nfaschool.org for more information and to learn how to connect with the team virtually.

Interested in NFA boys basketball?

Any boy interested in trying out for boys basketball must be registered in FamilyID by November 20. You must be in a cohort that attends school in person in order to tryout. More information on dates and times for tryouts will be coming soon. Keep checking here for updates. 

Unified Dance Team meets each Wednesday

Unified Dance is going virtual this year! Meetings will occur each Wednesday from 2:30 to 3 pm. Email Ms. Caldeira at calderiaa@nfaschool.org for access info. 

Don’t forget -- the Library is open and S-Cards are available!

The Library is accepting S-Cards. Students can come to the Library during their study halls (including the study hall in the new Connection/Lunch/Study Hall block). Make sure you get your S-cards from your Subject teacher and bring them to your study hall or Connections teacher to sign before coming to the Library.

Winter athletics

Registration for the winter sports season is now open. Any interested student-athlete must be registered (and approved!) on FamilyID prior to November 20. For more information about student-athlete participation, the FamilyID registration process, a list of winter season coaches or to register, click here

Attention Class of 2021!

Seniors: you are invited to submit a baby picture to be included in the 2021 yearbook. Send your picture to yearbook@nfaschool.org. Make sure to include your name and student ID number when submitting. One picture only, please, and it must be a jpeg file. Deadline is November 20.

College Visits

For the fall, all on campus, in person college visits have been rescheduled to virtual visits. Students can sign-up for a virtual visit through Naviance. Students who sign-up for a virtual visit will receive a link to attend at the time of sign up. Students who are on campus, in class during the time of a scheduled visit will receive an email with a recorded copy of the virtual visit to view. If you have questions, email Mrs. Lauzier at lauzierk@nfaschool.org.

To Register through Naviance:

1. Log on to Naviance.
2. Click the College tab in the right hand corner.
3. Click the 'Research Colleges' link.
4. Click the 'College Visits' link.
5. A new page will load with the complete list: scroll down the list and select the college or university of your choice.
6. Click 'Register Now' on the right of the college or university name.
