In light of the impending winter storm, Norwich Free Academy is adjusting its schedule in the following way.
Thursday, December 17 – Campus will be closed with no remote learning.
Friday, December 18 – In anticipation of potential storm-related days and wanting to take advantage of our the most learning time, this will be a fully remote learning day for all following the normal Friday schedule.
Monday, December 21 – Cohort B will be on campus, Cohort A will be remote. This is a switch to provide a better in-person balance for those students.
Tuesday, December 22 – Cohort B will be on campus, Cohort A will be remote.
Wednesday, December 23 – Normal Wednesday remote learning schedule ending at 12:30 pm.
Please refer to the information below for other important information related to weather conditions moving forward.
If a weather scenario impacts NFA, announcements will be made in the following ways.
We will first utilize SchoolMessenger, which delivers information via telephone, text and email. To ensure you are signed up for text alerts, text Yes to 67587.
Secondly, the information shared via SchoolMessenger, will appear on the NFA website, as well as our social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Please note, for this year, we WILL NOT be providing updates on local radio or television stations. Those systems are not set up well for sharing remote learning information, so we will only publish the information ourselves and provide it via SchoolMessenger, our website and social media.
With inclement weather, we will follow one of these two scenarios:
Closed -- no school for students (in person or remote).
Remote learning -- school will be held remotely, following the schedule for that day.
This year, we will not utilize a two-hour delay schedule. If a situation that would typically warrant a two-hour delay presents itself, we will instead follow the remote learning day process outlined above.
