NFA Community Update - April 9

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Norwich Free Academy.

As you may be aware, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont today extended the mandatory school closure until Wednesday, May 20, 2020. Based on that announcement, we will continue to follow our Continuity of Learning Plan (CLP) until at least that time.

Following up on the Governor’s announcement, I’d like to remind you of the following:

April Vacation
Our annual spring vacation starts tomorrow. Classes in their current remote form will resume Monday, April 20. It is my hope that your family will have the opportunity to un-plug from school for much of this time and take a much needed break before we continue again on Monday, April 20. Additionally, for some students, this may prove to be a valuable opportunity to ‘catch up’ on some assignments.

Free Meals
Distribution of free grab-and-go meals will continue both tomorrow (April 10) and all next week. Meals are available for pick up Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm outside of the Tirrell Building. Meals can also be picked up at the locations found here.

Most importantly, I am extremely grateful for your patience and support as we continue to navigate through this unprecedented time. I know there has been great work happening, and I also realize there are unique challenges associated with this new remote educational delivery system. Please rest assured that we will continue to do our very best to provide our students with a quality educational experience.

Remember, together we are NFA.  My best wishes to your family for good health and happiness.
