NFA names Tracey Dedonato House Principal
Head of School David J. Klein announced today that Tracey P. Dedonato has been named House Principal at Norwich Free Academy. Dedonato will assume the position of Bradlaw House Principal, and under NFA’s House Organization, she will lead a team of professionals to oversee the progress and achievement of the members of the Class of 2022 (current 10th-graders) for the next three years.
“I have always considered myself lucky to work in such a diverse and dynamic community. There is absolutely no place like NFA; the students, faculty, and staff are beyond wonderful to work with,” says Dedonato. “I feel both privileged and humbled to have been chosen to join the leadership team as Bradlaw House Principal. I cannot wait to get started!”
Dedonato holds an undergraduate degree from Providence College, a Master’s Degree from Central Connecticut State University, and a sixth-year degree in School Administration from Sacred Heart University.  Dedonato has served as an administrative intern in the Shattuck House under House Principal, Kristin Peckrul.
“Tracey DeDonato is a person of impeccable character and integrity.  I am delighted to welcome her as a member of the NFA Administrative Team.  She will lead the Bradlaw House with great enthusiasm, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to our students,” says Head of School David Klein.
An English teacher, Dedonato has been at Norwich Free Academy for 21 years.  For the past six years, she has served as English Department Head.  Dedonato has been an active and contributing participant in NFA’s School Data Team, and is one of the architects of the new Senior Seminar in NFA’s School to Work initiative to begin this school year.
