Playshop receives 21 nominations for HALO awards

 

Norwich Free Academy Playshop received 21 nominations for the upcoming HALO Awards, an annual celebration of the best in high school theatrical productions sponsored by Seven Angels Theatre.

“I am beyond thrilled for our students,” said Philip Trostler, director of the NFA Playshop. “This year, we received 21 nominations. Last year, we received eight. It speaks to the hard work and talent of our students.”

All of the NFA nominations came from just two of its scheduled performances: A Midsummer Night’s Dream and All in the Timing. The group was not able to perform its spring musical, A Chorus Line.

Typically held at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, the awards will be presented virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Awards night is scheduled for June 24.
