Norwich Free Academy inducted 40 new members (1 member of the Class of 2018) and (39 members of the Class of 2019) of the Robert G. Meade Chapter of the Spanish National Honor Society at a ceremony, 6 p.m., May 7, in Slater Auditorium.
World Language Teacher and Chapter Adviser, Rachel Mandeville ‘18, welcomed honorees, their family, friends, and faculty, and Rebekah Burke ‘18, Chapter President, and Brielle Jewell, Treasurer, delivered the Chapter History.
Five members reviewed the four pillars of the Spanish National Honor Society for inductees by delivering speeches about the qualities of the organization. President Burke spoke about Leadership; Claire Thomas ‘18 talked about Character; Social Chair Nicholas Chmielewski ‘18 reflected upon Scholarship, Social Chair Harrison Knight addressed Service, and Vice-President Caitlyn Angeletti spoke about Integrity.
Thomas read the organization’s poem, and Jewell administered the oath.
A reception followed the event.
