NFA and Safe Futures -- Activities this Week! This week, students and parents will learn more about the ongoing collaboration between NFA and Safe Futures, a local organization focused on saving lives, restoring hope and changing the future for those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and trafficking in southeastern Connecticut. Parents are invited to a meeting Tuesday, January 28, at 6 pm in the Ensemble Room to learn more about Safe Futures, meet the staff and learn about our collaborative work. Student assemblies will be held Wednesday (Juniors and Seniors) and Thursday (Freshmen and Sophomores) to help you learn more, too. Check daily notices on your MyNFA student portal for specific times for each class assembly. On the day of your assembly, please report to your class first. You’ll then go to Slater. Annual 9th Grade Day There is no school Wednesday, January 29, for ninth grade students on the main NFA campus. (Ninth grade Sachem campus students report to school as normal.) Students in grades 10-12 will have an early dismissal at 11:55 am. This is the annual professional development day for all ninth grade faculty and staff. The schedule for Wednesday, January 29 will be: E-ch F-ch G-ch A-ch Coming Soon -- Exploring Opportunities! On Thursday, February 6, current 9th, 10th and 11th graders will have the opportunity to meet teachers and visit classrooms as part of our annual Exploring Opportunities Day. Believe it or not, class registration for next year happens in February, so this gives students a chance to seek out teachers to learn about classes that may interest them for next year. An email will be sent to students on Monday, February 3, with all details, and, that same day, information will be available on both the MyNFA student and parent portals.
