You can contact our Medical Center at 860-425-5552. 11th Grade Honors Program Students A program will be held Monday, March 9, during F channel for members of the 11th grade honors program. Guest speaker Lisa Bragaw will be discussing mindfullness and stress management. This will take place in Slater A. Students should report directly there at the end of E channel that day. AP Exam Deadline The final deadline to sign up to take an AP exam is Monday, March 9. Students must see Mrs. Elliott in Allis House to complete the registration form and submit the fee. Spring Sports Dates Student-athletes are reminded that the deadline for FamilyID online registrations for the 2019-20 spring sports season is Friday, March 14, 2020. NO STUDENT MAY PARTICIPATE IN TRYOUTS OR PRACTICES WITHOUT HAVING BEEN APPROVED through FamilyID. COACHES WILL HAVE A DIGITAL ROSTER OF APPROVED STUDENTS. Sam and Randy Deglin Art & Noise Scholarship The Sam and Randy Deglin Art & Noise Scholarship, established by the friends and classmates of Samantha and Randy Deglin, is accepting submissions of original creative student work revealing artistic ability through the written word, the performance of a dramatic or musical piece, or works of visual art. For more information on this $1,000 scholarship and application instructions, click here. Submission deadline: Thursday, April 9. Dance Company auditions Auditions for the 2020-21 school year will be held Monday, March 30, and Tuesday, March 31, in the dance studio from 2:30-4:30 pm. This is an audition-based full year course for those who are serious about performing and advancing their dance career. Students must have taken level one dance in order to participate in Dance Company. Questions? Contact Ms. Caldeira. Grade 11 Student Success Plans (SSPs) and Parent Meetings All 11th-grade SSPs will take place during the school day this month. These are group meetings with school counselors and students only. Students will receive passes in homeroom with the date and time of the meeting. Eleventh-grade parents and guardians are invited to attend one of the two evening sessions below to review and receive the information that was shared with students. The meetings are: March 10, from 3 to 4 pm, or March 12, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Both meetings will be in Slater Auditorium. Letters were mailed home directing parents and guardians to more information and to pre-register for an evening session. Access that page here. Grade 10 Student Success Plans (SSPs) and Parent Meetings Grade 10 SSPs will run through March 27. SSPs will take place during the school day. These are individual meetings with school counselors. Students and parents are invited to attend these scheduled individual meetings. Students receive passes in homeroom with the date and time of the meeting. Letters were mailed home to parents/guardians in the beginning of February inviting them to attend this meeting. Youth Leadership Program -- Grades 9 and 10 NFA and Norwich Youth Services is hosting a two-day program on youth leadership open to students in grade 9 and 10. Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser This year's Empty Bowls Fundraiser event is 5 pm, Weds., Mar. 18 in the NFA Cafeteria. Choose a hand made bowl and delicious soup from the Brickview for just $10 per person! Proceeds benefit the Food Pantry at NFA. This year's menu includes: Black Bean (vegan), Broccoli Cheddar (vegetarian), Beef Chili (gluten free), Chicken Noodle (Dairy free), and Mexican Chicken Corn Chowder. Reminder for ALL students Free Dinner is available from 4 - 6 pm, Monday through Friday, in the Back Cafeteria for all NFA students age 18 and younger. The dinner complies with Connecticut State meal requirements. See the menus below. Students sign in to participate and eat dinner in the cafeteria. No grab-and-go or takeout. A Free Grab-and-Go Snack is available to all NFA students from 2:10 - 2:30 pm each day in the Atrium and the cafeteria. Yearbook Sales The 2020 Yearbook is still available for $75.00. New home for the CCC The College & Career Center has a new home in the Land Library (top of the stairs as you enter the library)!
