Dear Parents,
As we continue to navigate this very challenging time, there are often more questions than answers. Among them, what type of learning opportunities are available for your children?
By sharing these resources, I'm hopeful it'll help you provide additional structure and learning opportunities for your children as we continue to assess what our new environment will be going forward.
The first resource to consider is Khan Academy, a resource our students should be familiar with, as it is used in a variety of subject areas. Khan Academy emphasizes personalized learning, allowing students to practice at their own pace. In light of current school closures, Khan Academy has built a structured school schedule that you might find helpful to keep your student(s) on task throughout the day.
In addition, our faculty and staff have collated resources to supplement the schedule and structure built by Khan Academy. The daily schedule and all available resources can be found here.
It is also possible during this time that our teachers may be populating google classrooms with suggested activities geared toward specific subject areas.
I hope these resources will be helpful ways to keep your child(ren) engaged during this unique situation. We remain in daily contact with the department of education related to overall statewide plans, recommendations and suggestions. As I mentioned earlier, there are more questions than answers, but we are doing our level best to keep you informed and provide opportunities to our students.
