EEN485 HONORS ENGLISH II
Honors tenth grade students are required to purchase the book Four Great American Classics which includes novels by Herman Melville, Mark Twain, Stephen Crane, and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Students must read Crane’s The Red Badge of Courage and annotate their copy as they read. The other selections in the book will be read later in the school year.
Write a short book review (4-5 sentences) and submit via the online Google Form Is the form on the school website main page or part of the Edwin Land Library link?as you finish reading each book. Book reviews will be accepted through Friday, September 17, 2021. This date seems very generous for summer reading.
Come to the Edwin H. Land Library at NFA before Friday, October 15, 2021 to claim
NFA has free unlimited access to eBooks that you can check out through the app on your mobile device, or on a laptop. Students, Faculty and Staff can start summer reading right away! In addition, this app is for students in grades K-12, so the younger members in your house can read on a mobile device or laptop too!
Adding the Sora app to your device or computer:
On a laptop go to a browser and visit https://soraapp.com/library/nfaschool.
On a mobile device, download the Sora app through the Google Play or Apple App stores and use setup code nfaschool.
You will be asked if you are an NFA Staff or Student. Login with your NFA Gmail account. Enjoy the titles that you can choose from.
How to add a public library to Sora app:
This allows you to get eBooks and audiobooks from your public library through the Sora app.
Click here and follow the steps. You will need to also download the Libby app (the public library version of Sora) and use your public library card number to link your Sora app to the Libby app. Here is what the screen looks like from a device:
We will discuss the book The Year Shakespeare Ruined My Life by Dani Jansen.
We will be discussing Master of Sorrows by Justin T. Call. This book is available for unlimited checkouts in both Ebook and Audiobook formats through the Sora App. Check out both!
