Beginning this year, Norwich Free Academy will provide and require all students to have an NFA assigned Chromebook. Personal Chromebooks, laptops, Macbooks, iPhones, etc. will not be acceptable as a substitute. Parents/guardians are required to fill out the form below before students receive their Chromebook.
Students can pick up their Chromebook in the IT Office, in the Edwin H. Land Library (2nd floor of the Latham Building), any morning from 7:30 - 10:30 am .
Students are expected to bring their NFA Chromebook fully charged to school every day.
Web traffic will be filtered and tracked using NFA’s filtering services, as the Chromebook is property of NFA. Students are not allowed to install software or modify NFA Chromebooks in any way. The signed technology use agreement in the student handbook, The Pilot, covers NFA issued Chromebooks. A student's assigned Chromebook will stay with them through graduation, or until they leave Norwich Free Academy.
You can opt for a $35 damage waiver each year. This plan covers two damages to the Chromebook per year (e.g., broken keyboard, broken case, cracked screen, device stops working). After two damage incidents, you will be charged the full value of a Chromebook should a third or more damage incident occur (the $35 damage waiver does not include lost or damaged power supplies). All parents/guardians are required to complete the annual damage waiver for students that currently have an NFA issued Chromebook. Chromebooks will be disabled until the waivers are submitted.
To order a new Chromebook, replacement power supply, replacement Chromebook, or to renew the annual damage waiver, you are required to fill out, and submit, the form below.
