If you haven’t filled out the general scholarship application yet, the clock is ticking! The application closes at midnight. The NFA Foundation will be presenting over $700,000 in scholarships and awards to our graduating seniors, whether you are going straight into the workforce, attending two-year college, four-year college, or going into the military! New Members Wanted for Advisory Group
 
The School Counseling Advisory Group is looking for new members to attend our upcoming meeting. The meeting will be on Tuesday, April 23, at 6 pm in the Latham Boardroom (1101). Smiles on the Move adds a second date!
 
Smiles on the Move, an in-school dental program, will be at NFA Friday, April 19, and now also on Friday, April 26. Click here for more information and to register. 
 
Taking an AP Test?
 
AP tests will be administered during the weeks of May 6-10 and 13-17. A few reminders for students preparing to take an upcoming AP exam. 
  • No matter your score, taking an AP course and exam shows colleges you’re willing to challenge yourself
  • Taking an AP exam for the first time can be intimidating. Knowing what to expect can help you feel more comfortable. Read this to help you gain confidence and prepare.
  • You get get familiar with the free-response questions (FRQs) you may see on the exam by reviewing questions from previous years found here
  • New AP Daily: Practice Sessions will launch April 22. These short, 15-minute video sessions are led by experienced teachers and focus on practicing and preparing to answer FRQs and multiple choice questions. 
Additionally, the 2024 AP exam terms and conditions are available to review at cb.org/apexamterms. This agreement details the rules and policies students must follow related to taking the 2024 AP exams.
  • You will need to accept these terms prior to taking each exam
  • College Board will send AP students email reminders to review these terms before the exam administration
  • For AP courses with a portfolio submission (AP Art and Design, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Seminar and AP Research), students will need to agree to the terms and conditions found here before submitting their work as final in the AP Digital Portfolio.

NGSS Testing Info
 
We will administer the State Science Assessment starting in late March and ending no later than May 31. The majority of testing will occur in April during students’ assigned science classes. Students in 11th grade who do not take science will be scheduled to take the test. The NGSS assessment is a digital test. Students will need to have their charged chromebooks with them in order to take the test. If you have any questions, please reach out to Science HOD, Monica Swyden, swydenm@nfaschool.org. Foodservice Roundtable on 4/29
 
On April 29, at 12:30 pm, there will be a roundtable discussion in the cafeteria about our foodservice program. This discussion is open to faculty, staff, students and parents. Any questions can be directed to Rich Freeman at freemanr@nfaschool.org
 
NFA Mountain Biking Club and Norwich Regional Race Team
 
NFA's Mountain Bike Club and Norwich's Mountain Bike Regional Race Team are looking for new members! We welcome everyone regardless of skill level! The club rides the trails at Mohegan Park. We are a welcoming community built on supporting and challenging each other while having fun doing so! Students, if you haven't done so, please download the STOPit app to your phone. You can find STOPit for both iOS and Android. Once you've downloaded it, installation is easy. Just search for Norwich Free Academy, select your class and you are good to go. There are no codes to enter! STOPit is a fully anonymous app where you can report any type of behavior or actions that warrant attention from an adult.
