Early Dismissal Notification
 
Parents: please send in a note or call our attendance office (860.425.5788) when requesting early dismissal for your child. It helps expedite the process. Thank you. 
 
12th-grade Parent Meeting
 
Parents of 12th-grade students pursuing post-secondary education are invited to join the 12th-grade school counselor team virtually Thursday, September 22, to learn about the application process. The meeting will take place virtually from 6 to 7 pm. You can attend by following this link. 
 
 
Playshop: Audition for Harvey
 
Auditions for the hilarious fall play "Harvey" will be held Tuesday, September 20, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm in Slater Auditorium. Students may leave immediately after their audition. Students who receive a callback will also attend Wednesday, September 21, from 2:30 to 4:45 in Slater for the entire time. Audition material and full script are available by clicking here. Yearbooks now on sale!

Anime Club meets 9/19

SAB meets 9/19
 
The Student Advisory Board will meet on September 19 at 2:15 pm in the Ensemble Room. All SAB members should attend. Any and all students are welcome.
 
Writers Ink meets 9/20
 
Writer's Ink is NFA's campus creative writing group and we will have our first meeting of the year Tuesday, September 20, after school in room 3030 in Cranston. We welcome students who love to read, write, and discuss stories, poems, essays, etc. See Mrs. Krauss in room 3030 or Ms. Roberts in room 2105 if you have questions. New members are always encouraged!
 
Photography Club meets 9/20

Youth Prevention Council meets 9/20
 
The first meeting of the Yout Prevention Council will be on September 20 from 2:15 to 3 pm in the Project Outreach room in Cranston (3103). All are welcome to attend. 
 
Asian Cultures Club meets 9/22
 
The Asian Cultures Club and the National Chinese Honor Society will have its first meeting of the year Thursday, September 22, in room 7231 at 2:15 pm. Members are encouraged to attend, as is anyone interested in joining. 
 
French Club meets 9/22

Registered for a dual enrollment class? Read on!
 
If you are registered for a Dual Enrollment UCONN ECE course, registration is now open. Registration will close Thursday, October 6. Per UCONN, late registrations are not accepted. You will receive detailed information from your classroom teacher regarding the registration process through your Dual Enrollment UCONN/ECE course. Be sure to follow the directions provided by your teacher.

QPR Training Available
 
Otis Library and Norwich Youth and Family Services are offering QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Traning for parents and teens in grade 10 or higher. Training is on September 28. More information can be found here.

NFA will be hosting colleges for visits this fall both in person and virtually! During these visits, college representatives will meet with interested students in small groups to discuss topics such as the academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures of their college. Both in-person and virtual visits will take place in the Anne Macaione Mitchell '44 College and Career Center (Latham 1221).

Mystic Aquarium High School Internship Program
 
Mystic Aquarium is again offering its High School Internship program starting on September 27th. In this 8-week program, specifically designed for students in grades 10 to 12, students will work and study alongside the amazing professionals who advance our mission. Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program: Summer Internship Program
 
The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) places high school students in Department of Navy (DoN) laboratories where they take part in real Naval research for eight weeks during the summer. SEAP gives academically talented sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in STEM the opportunity to learn about Naval research and technology while receiving first-class mentoring by top scientists and engineers. ​ASVAB held October 5
 
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a comprehensive, no-cost, no-commitment career planning resource designed to help young people align their strengths and interests with a post-secondary plan that works. Open to 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students who plan on enlisting in the military or are interested in identifying their work-related interests are encouraged to participate. The ASVAB will be held in the Ensemble Room: Wed​nesday October 5, from 7:30 - 10:30 am. Students must register in advance to attend. Interested in the field of Manufacturing?
 
QVCC is hosting its 7th Annual Manufacture your Future event that will be on Friday, October 28, 8:30 am-12:30 pm. This event is open to 11th-grade students who may be interested in the field of manufacturing. Attendees will participate in hands-on activities that will help raise awareness about all of the amazing opportunities that manufacturing holds. The trip is only open to 10 students - see Mrs. Lauzier in the Anne Macaione Mitchell '44 College and Career Center for a permission slip to attend.
-General Dynamics Electric Boat presents The Boat for Women. Discover what Electric Boat has to offer in this 3-week-long program October 4-20, Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-8:30 pm. Explore a different trade each night: pipefitting, electrical, welding, ship fitting, and machining. It's a chance to see if manufacturing is the career for you!
