2019-20 Course Registration

Helping students to plan a course of study for next year is a collaborative effort among students, families and all the professionals at the Academy. This area of the website is a resource for parents to access the information and tools they need to offer their children assistance.

Exploring Opportunities, February 5 - 14, 2019, is time for students to work together with families, teachers and counselors to make informed decisions about their future at Norwich Free Academy and beyond. By working together, we encourage students to put their high school course work and learning and their co-curricular activities into the context of their post-high school plans. To do so, is to be on the path of success.

Start with "Opportunity & Choice," NFA's 2019-20 Course Catalog to find a great deal you need to know to help your child make the most of NFA's opportunities and choices.

In the tabbed boxes below, find more specific information.

As always, we are here to help. If you have questions, contact Jessica St. George, Guidance Department Head at 860-425-5622 or Jeanne Elliott, Guidance Director at 860-425-5600.

Incoming 9th Graders

NFA School Counselors will visit your child’s school soon.  Your child will receive a copy of Welcome to the Next 4 Years:  A Welcome Guide and Registration Packet for the Class of 2023.  Follow the directions for using the guide, learn all the information you need to know about choosing courses, taking the High School Placement Test, and taking the next steps to enroll your child at NFA.   Included in the back cover pocket, find a course selection sheet, a home language survey, and an announcement for a parent meeting, Jan. 30.  Use this file pocket to keep all information and correspondence from NFA until your child is registered.

Once you have completed the course selection sheet, sign it, and have your child return by the date and to the person indicated on the pocket in the inside back cover.

Please plan to join us at our Course Registration Information Session for Parents of Incoming Grade Nine Students, 6-7:30 p.m., Jan. 31, 2019, in Slater Auditorium.  It is a great opportunity for us as educators and you as parents to begin to forge a partnership for the success of your child.

If you need help or assistance, contact Mrs. Jessica St. George, Department Head, Guidance and School Counseling at 860-425-5622 or stgeorgej@nfaschool.org.
