COVID Update - home tests available

Good afternoon,

As you may be aware, the state of Connecticut has been providing N95 masks and rapid testing kits to local municipalities, as well as school districts. The first shipment we received provided masks for our faculty and staff and testing kits to be used by our Medical Center for those who present with COVID-related symptoms.

I’m happy to report that we anticipate receiving another shipment of materials tomorrow, and we are now able to make additional rapid test kits available to students who are currently symptomatic. If your child is home and experiencing symptoms, we can arrange for you to pick up a free rapid testing kit.

To receive a test kit, please call our Medical Center at (860) 425-5551, and we will work with you to arrange a safe onsite pick-up for a rapid test kit during the hours of 7 am and 3 pm.

Again, these kits are for students who are currently symptomatic.

Thank you for your continued patience and support. Remember, too, that it’s important for students to stay home from school if they are feeling sick with any COVID symptoms. Additionally, they should remain home if they are awaiting the results of a PCR test. If you receive one of our home kits and the results are positive, please notify the Medical Center for guidance on when to return to school.

Thank you,

Dr. Brian M. Kelly
Head of School/Superintendent
