Sunday Night Reminder - Feb. 2
This week! -- Exploring Opportunities
This Thursday, February 6, current 9th, 10th and 11th graders will have the opportunity to meet teachers and visit classrooms as part of our annual Exploring Opportunities Day. Believe it or not, class registration for next year happens in February, so this gives students a chance to seek out teachers to learn about classes that may interest them for next year. An email will be sent to students tomorrow (Monday, February 3) with details, and, that same day, information will be available on both the MyNFA student and parent portals.
Tuesday, February 4 - Extended Homeroom
9th, 10th and 11th grade students will receive the 2020-2021 Course Catalog, course selection sheet, and instructions for Exploring Opportunities and the course registration process. 12th grade students will be measured for their graduation cap and gown.
The schedule for the day will be:
  • G1 - 7:25-8:25
  • Homeroom - 8:30-8:45
  • A2 - 8:50-10:00
  • B2 - 10:05-11:05
  • C2 - 11:10-1:05

NFA will host a Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) Day event Thursday, February 6, in the library computer lab from 8 to 11 am. College financial aid representatives and NFA school counselors will be on hand to offer personalized assistance to any family needing to submit the FAFSA application.
Reserved time slots are available to ensure faster service, but drop-ins are also welcome. To reserve your meeting time, contact Jay Berard, school counselor, at 860-425-5612 or
Meetings will go much smoother if both parent(s) and student create a FAFSA PIN prior to the meeting. This can be done here: In order to complete the FAFSA, 2018 tax returns are needed for both parents and students. Please utilize the FAFSA Checklist to ensure you bring any required material. We look forward to assisting you in this important step of the college process.
