Sunday Night Reminder - Sun., Apr. 7
We are Wildcats. At NFA, respect and responsibility go hand-in-hand.
We are a unified community: see or hear something; say something, and we will respond.
Please continue to be aware and do your part to keep every area of our campus clean. Your attention makes all the difference. Thank you!
Although still “tentative,” please be aware that barring any cancellation of a school day or days, graduation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12.
Senior Survey
All seniors MUST complete the Senior Survey in Naviance by April 26. The survey is required to be considered for NFA scholarships and for NFA to send your final transcript. To access the survey, click the Naviance icon on you MyNFA>Student Portal Dashboard. Find the survey under Important To-Dos and Tasks and/or What's New.
Next Generation Science (NGSS) Assessment
The state requires assessments in science in Grades 5, 8, and 11, using the Next Generation Science (NGSS) Assessment. The NGSS Assessment is administered on computers.  It measures skills in real-world science questions that require students to demonstrate an understanding of the content.
NFA will administer the NGSS Assessment to the majority of 11th-grade students, beginning Friday, April 5, through Friday, April 26, 2019.  All students will take the test in their science class with NFA science teachers, and testing will have no effect upon the normal class schedule.
After School Student Supervision
There are some changes after school to more closely monitor students on campus until the arrival of the late bus at 4:45 p.m.  All students are required to be in adult-supervised areas while on campus during after school hours. If you stay after school for a teacher, club, activity, or practice, you are expected to be in a supervised area until you leave campus.  If your after-school activity is finished and you are waiting for transportation or the evening meal, you must be in the library or the cafeteria.
Wandering about campus is not an option.  The Atrium is not a supervised after-school space.
The requirement for after school supervision will be strictly enforced. If you have any questions, speak with your House Principal.
Playshop ----Urinetown: The Musical
Pronounced “Your’re in Town,” this musical comedy,  a satire of modern life takes aim at the legal system, municipal politics and bureaucracy, corporate greed and mismanagement, capitalism and social irresponsibility.  In addition, it parodies the genre of the Broadway musical itself.
7 p.m., April 25, 26, and 27 - Slater Auditorium. $10 adults, $5 students, children, and senior citizens.
NFA Prize Exams
Win prizes, recognition, awards, and honor. Compete in many different areas of academic and school life. NFA Prize Exams take place until April 26 in the various areas and on the dates and times listed on this schedule. Learn more information about each opportunity from your subject area teachers.
