Community-Based Programs

Explore your future through one our community programs!  Our extensive partnerships allow us to provide students with valuable opportunities for career exploration and growth. Through collaboration  with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders, we offer a diverse range of career exploration opportunities designed to inspire, educate, and empower students as they navigate their future paths.

  • Fire Service: Through the City of Norwich this program is for  students interested in learning more about  fire service and becoming a volunteer or career firefighter. 

  • Cool Directions: In partnership with Norwich Human Services, this program provides a host of support services to promote job readiness and school success. 

  • Electric Boat SHIP: Summer High School Intern Program: Students in 11th or 12th grade can apply for an 8-week paid internship at Electric Boat.  

  • Hartford Healthcare (Backus) Bridge Program:   Summer Bridge Program offers students the opportunity to serve their community, volunteer, develop connections with healthcare professionals and explore career options.

  • Judicial Branch Experiential Learning Program: The program will provide high school students, with an overview of careers in the Judicial Branch.

  • UCONN Women In Engineering & Medicine Workshop: For high school women who are interested in pursuing careers in Medicine or Engineering.
